Consolidation Continues for Bathgate
Building on Bathgate Brass Band's success at the Scottish Open Shield in Perth, and in preparation for the Scottish Regional Championships, the consolidation continues with the arrival of a number of new players, and the return of some old faces.
The Soprano seat is filled by Johan Hentze, currently
studying at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama in
Glasgow, and the cornet section is further strengthened by
the arrival of Mark McLaughlin from Kingdom Brass and Andy
Connell-Smith who is also studying at the Academy.
Charlotte Hudson makes a welcome return to the band to
complete the horn section for the day and her brother James
will play e-flat bass. Long time stalwart of the band, Dick
Pritchard also returns, this time in the baritone section.
Bass player Kevin Turnbull (joining his wife Sharon) and
percussionist Alan Taylor, both of whom are currently
playing with the Band of the Royal Regiment of Scotland,
complete the line-up for Dundee, where the band will play
under the baton of their Musical Director, Stephen Baird.
